Employee Training
Newly hired sworn staff receive 600 hours of training during their first year of employment. This includes a 440 hour Basic Jailor Academy and 160 hours of On-the-Job Training (Field Training) and Orientation before working independently. Field Training allows you to work along side a veteran officer who will mentor and critique your work. This training includes, but is not limited to, the following classes:

- Inmate Rights & Grievances
- Confidentiality/Release of Public Information
- Employee Rules of Conduct
- Hazardous Materials
- Inmate Supervision
- Use of Force
- Inmate Conduct & Discipline
- Suicide Prevention
- Infectious Disease Control & Protection
